Waterbabies

Water confidence builds life confidence. That’s why introducing your little one to the water with Water Babies is the best start you can give them in life.

Water Babies’ leading swim programme has been developed to build water confidence and skills throughout your little one’s first five years. They work closely with Swim England, the national governing body for swimming, and they’ve woven Swim England’s learn to swim framework through their own programme. You’ll love nothing more than seeing your little one’s progression as they move from fun floating, kicking and splashing to swimming, diving and floating independently.

And not only will your little one develop key aquatic skills, but they’ll also gain the knowledge to keep themselves safe. By the end of their journey, your child will be able to independently swim to the side and climb out to safety, wherever they are.

You can be safe in the knowledge that you’re learning from the best. Water Babies teachers are the only ones who hold Swim England’s Level 3 qualification, the highest that can be achieved. And they’re the most passionate around, there to guide you at every stroke of your little one’s journey. Because the more confident they are in the water, the more confident they’ll be out of it too. All the things that Water Babies teach in the water are structured to support and foster your little one’s development: physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally.

Focused time in the water also strengthens the bond between you and your little one, through that skin-to-skin contact in the comforting warmth of the water. It’s the perfect place to connect, away from the craziness of daily life.

Ange has been a Water Babies teacher for 17 years. She has two children who are all grown up now and two doodles! She is passionate about keeping herself and her family healthy by eating well and exercising daily. If she’s not teaching, she’ll likely be in Cornwall – it’s her favourite place in the universe!

Suzie is a proud Dutch mummy and step-mummy. Suzie has been teaching for 7 years and still adores it daily. She especially loves using her imagination in her lessons. In her spare time, she loves writing, paddle boarding and yoga. Suzie is also a translator for a mental health charity!

Alice was a Physio under the NHS before starting with Water Babies. She is now training to become a fully qualified Early Years teacher! She grew up in the Middle East (which is where her love of the water comes from)! Alice has two little water babies who love the water too (one in Team Sculli and one in Team Saffi who swim here at The Whiteley Physio Centre). Learn more about Jenny below.

Jenny has been with Water Babies for 16 years. She joined after spending years as a lifeguard and swimming instructor to older children/adults who struggled with water confidence. She knew she wanted to help as many people as she could from an early age, which is why she joined Water Babies! In her spare time Jenny and her husband go to see live music.

Clare covers teachers when they’re poorly or have poorly little ones. Clare is mum to two original water babies who are now 18 and 16 and mum to two border collies. She is a Chartered Accountant by profession who ditched the business suit for her swimmers over 17 years ago. Clare is proud to head up the lovely team in Hampshire and she is passionate about providing the best experience for swimmers in and out of the pool!

What makes Water Babies different?

  • The Whiteley Physio Centre is one of the specially-selected delightfully warm hydrotherapy pools Water Babies swims in – it’s like stepping into a giant bath!
  • They only have small class sizes – every little one will have their individual needs tailored to, ensuring personalised attention.
  • Water Babies have the most highly trained baby swimming teachers in all of the UK (each teacher has exclusively earned their Level 3 Teaching Pre-School Swimming Advanced qualification).
  • The Water Babies programme is designed to be progressive – everything they do, they do with purpose!
  • Their programme focuses on all types of development (physical, social-emotional, cognitive and psychological) to help your baby thrive in every area (not just swimming).
  • Their Oceans of Imagination programme – this one-of-a-kind programme helps to foster early imagination, like surfing the waves, swimming through a cave, riding a seahorse or diving for treasure!

When they’re ready, Water Babies Hampshire are ready.
